Vylyan Bogyólé 2015

About the design Background 2015
"Bogyó" means berry (in this case, grape) so here comes in the picture the shape of a circle, but I wanted a perfect circle, withstanding the curve of the bottle, a very special ellipse was drawn which looks perfectly circular from front view despite the shape of the bottle and the perspective.
The design was made for a yearly contest, I participated a couple of times. This is my third and last design, where I decided to completely oppose the contests brief in the style and mood of the label – for fun. Vylyan always wanted fresh, youthful and year by year even more outwardly ludicrous designs. For the last time I made a b&w, minimalist, fully geometric and rather elegant label that is unmatched in the crowd of the competition.
About the design
“Bogyó” means berry (in this case, grape) so here comes in the picture the shape of a circle, but I wanted a perfect circle, despite the curvature of the bottle. A special ellipse was drawn by projecting the circle on the cylinder. The product is a shape that’s perfectly circular from the front view.
Background
The design was made for Vylyan winery’s yearly contest, I participated a couple of times. The labels they wish for are youthful, usually colorful and playful. For the last time I decided to oppose the brief and create the “Anti-Bogyólé” and made a B&W, minimalist, fully geometric and rather elegant label that is unmatched in the crowd of the competition. This work is not a submission to win, but a statement.
